Stephen Forbes, Jr.
Steve Forbes, Jr. began his accounting career working for PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP. While at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP, Steve worked primarily in the Private Client Services group where he specialized in providing a variety of compliance and consulting services to private corporations and partnerships. He also worked seasonally with the Private Financial Services team, a group dedicated to fulfilling the tax needs of high wealth individuals.
As the Managing Partner of Forbes & Company, Steve has continued to focus on the compliance and consulting needs privately held businesses and their owners. Steve's industries of specialty include service-based businesses, real estate, technology start-ups, and light manufacturing. With clients nationwide, Steve also has extensive experience dealing with multi-state taxation issues.
Steve received his Masters in Accounting from North Carolina State University in 2007 as a PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP sponsored Fellow. He received his Bachelors in Accounting, with a concentration in Information Management, from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
Steve is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and the AICPA. He lives in Alpharetta with his wife, Sarah and his daughters, Anna and Maddie. In his free time, he enjoys relaxing with his family, staying fit with jogging and biking, and hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Stephen Forbes, Sr.
Steve Forbes founded the firm in January 1997. Steve performs a full-range of accounting and tax services for his clients including structuring of complex transactions, financial reporting, business and individual tax planning, preparation and review of tax returns, and financial projections. His diverse clientele includes manufacturers, service companies, construction companies, real estate developers, retailers and high-technology companies. Steve has conducted numerous seminars on tax planning for individuals, partnerships, S corporations and closely-held businesses.
Prior to founding Forbes & Company, Steve was a partner at Bennett Thrasher & Co., P.C., one of the largest CPA firms in Atlanta. Steve joined Bennett Thrasher in early 1991 after working for PriceWaterhouse LLP for seven years in the Atlanta and Tampa offices. Prior to that, he spent three years in the Charlotte office of Arthur Andersen LLP from 1981 to 1984. Steve graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Carolina State University in 1981.
Steve is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and the AICPA as well as its Tax Division. Outside of the office, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, and fishing.
Jerry recently joined Forbes & Company as head of the firm's advisory practice. He is known as a trusted business adviser for his clients while providing CFO, accounting, and tax services. Jerry has been a CPA for over 30 years and is licensed in Georgia and Texas. During his career he has served clients at several professional services firms including as a partner at a "Big 4" firm.
Jerry received his Bachelor of Business Administration (Cum Laude) from Hardin-Simmons University and his Masters of Science from Texas Tech University. Jerry is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Jerry has lived in Atlanta for 18 years and is married to Cheryl, a native Atlantan. They have four children and six grandchildren between them. He is an avid golfer, has copyrighted several songs, and traveled extensively having visited all 50 states. Jerry is 2015-2016 President of The Rotary Club of Sandy Springs and is active with the Boys and Girls Clubs.
